Yuxuan’s OLL Algorithm List This document contains a list of every OLL algorithm that Yuxuan uses for normal 3x3 solves with a short description of how she learned/remembers the algorithm. OLL (short for Orientation of the Last Layer) is a last-layer step for 2x2 (see OLL (2x2x2)) and 3x3 that orients all last-layer corners and edges in one step.It is the first last-layer step in many speedsolving methods, including the Fridrich Method.OLL is usually followed by PLL.. Terminology. (This will also reset all info on the page, such as algorithms, times, etc.). Fisher Cube – the mother of shape mods. This is just the mirror of OLL #44. Nathan Dwyer's 4x4 parity: These are cases that combined with the OLL parity alg will skip the OLL case. Octahedron – the centers become corners and the corners become centers. Rw U' Rw2' F2 Rw: This is sort of a mix between swapping two centers and the case above. There are 57 different OLL variations, therefore needed 57 different algorithms to learn in order to complete the OLL step in just 1 algorithm. This page has my favorite PLL algorithms grouped with similar versions next to it. This step completes 3 out of the 4 cross pieces in the correct color order. Some movements are bracketed by triggers. Algorithm: Comments: Rw U2 Rw2' F2 Rw: The two centers are solved but need to be swapped with each other. 32 (R Dw) (L' Dw') (R' U) (Lw U Lw') There should be a nice balance between both hands in performing this algorithm. Digital cheat sheet tutorial on how to solve 3x3x3 Rubik's cube. (Click on a case's image to change its status.). While solving the Rubik's Cube with the advanced Fridrich method, when the first two layers (F2L) are solved we need to orient the last layer (OLL) so the upper face of the Rubik's Cube is all yellow. Each selected case appears with the same probability as in a real solve. 2look OLL. Use the Shift key to select multiple cases. Hold … Intermediate Last 2 Centers Algorithms [5x5] Advanced Last 2 Edges Algorithms [5x5] We don't care if the side colors don't match, we are going to permute the last layer (PLL) later. Here are a few animated examples. Algorithms: 4x4 OLL 4x4 OLL With 3 oriented edges, often there is a trick that is faster than doing OLL Parity + regular OLL. Partial White Cross. The OLL algorithms here are numbered using the accepted order found on the speedsolving.com wiki (and elsewhere online), so you can always find an alternative to a specific algorithm should you wish. If you don't know what F2L/OLL/PLL means, this app is probably not for you! All the 2L OLL algorithms are indicated with a * after the algorithm. 4x4: Rob Yau's L2E algs: There aren't *that* many algs for 4x4, but Rob Yau's L2E cases come in super handy! When following the algorithms in this guide, it is important to maintain the FRONT face of your Rubik’s Master so it remains the FRONT through all of the turns. Free online speedcubing algorithm and reconstruction database, covers every algorithm for 2x2 - 6x6 including F2L, OLL, PLL, COLL, ZBLL, WV and much more F2L. You can change a case's status by clicking on its picture in the algorithm list. This is when 2 pieces of the last layer are orientated incorrectly. Then, if applicable, look for OLL-PLL Parity cases. There are 57 different OLL varia±ons, therefore needed 57 different algorithms to learn in order to complete the OLL step in just 1 algorithm. Useful Last 2 Edges Algorithms [4x4] Intermediate Big Cube OLL Algorithms. Learning the Algorithms Don't learn too many algorithms at once. Collection of OLL (Orientation of the Last Layer) CFOP method algorithms. It is useful to see both learned and unlearned cases to avoid mixing them up, especially if they look similar. Right after you finish the F2L, your cube will look like one of the following cases on top. In total, there are 57 OLL algorithms. The common ones are "sexy move" with is (R U R' U') and "sledgehammer" which is (R' F R F').I have also added one I'm calling "semi-sexy move" which is similar to "sexy move" but with the U face moving the same way the whole time (eg. Each selected case is guaranteed to appear equally often. The notation used in Chris Hardwick's Rubik's Revenge Solution signifies a wide right turn as (Rr), for example. But even for cases where there is no easy trick, it's important to predict the OLL after parity to reduce a pause. Speedcubing and cubing resources. Orientation of Last Layer (OLL) OLL is the 3rd step of the Fridrich Method. Intermediate Big Cube COLL Algorithms. Mastermorphix – 4 colored pillowed shape shifter. If the scramble has the edges in an even permutation and you solve the centers in an odd number of inner face quarter turns you will cause the orientation parity. I have chosen these ones because they heavily use three different triggers, which I … WARNING! Due to randomness, some cases may appear very often, or rarely appear. Algorithms for the Cage Methodas well as algorithms for theoretical purposes and general 4x4x4 exploration are present as well. Rw U' Rw' U Rw U2 Rw' In each case an incorrectly positioned pair of edges must be at the top of the front face with a correctly positioned pair at the top of right face. Despite that one can technically solve all 22 PLL parity cases by executing an algorithm meant to solve any one of them to any face and then finish solving the 4x4x4 as if it was a 3x3x3, special algorithms have been developed for every case. The remaining PLL parity cases which involve the fewest number of pieces besides the most popular case above are the following. 5x5: Meep's website: Meep has a FANTASTIC website for all the L2E and L2C cases for 5x5. * F2L/OLL/PLL algorithms * Automatic trigger grouping * Permutation rotation * Quick list for easy access of your favorites Internet and coarse location permissions are used for ads and statistics. Rw U2 Rw' This is one of the nicest cases and easiest to recognize. order presented. OLL. (For help with notation visit this website: https://ruwix.com/the-rubiks-cube/notation/) It is common convention among the speedcubing community to use algorithms which contain wide (double layer) turns to solve OLL parity instead of single inner layer slices. Once completed, the cube can be solved like a regular 3x3 puzzle (Reduction). OLL is the 3rd step of the CFOP, and the "busiest" in respect of the amount of algorithms required to complete it. Such an algorithm is called a non-pure algorithm when compared to algorithms which just flip a single dedge, which are often called pure flips. Press the play to start the animation. There is also an easier OLL, called 2L OLL (2nd look Orienting Last Layer), in which you first create the first create the yellow cross, and then use seven new algorithms to complete the rest of the yellow side. 4x4 Rubik's revenge is very similar to it and requires only few more algorithms to learn. On the 4x4 there is only one OLL case which is shown above. An ALGORITHM is a sequence of moves that you need to do in a specific order. Only your slowest cases (by average) will appear in the trainer. It's the second-last step in the CFOP method. 31 (R' U') F (U R U' R') F' R: This is just the mirror of OLL #32, but I don't perform it as such.
